~into the sleepstream~

why do you run from your dreams?
why do you push away your hopes?
why are you afraid of the light?
why are you erasing what makes you smile?
...
they told you there was a reward for burning yourself away.
that if you erode your truth it will all be okay.
that it is supposed to be this way.
but deep down you know it's all a lie
...
hold my hand, ok?
don't be scared, i'll be there to protect you.
forget the lies and don't let the spirals of abyss take you.
it is time to open up and let yourself shine
...
your lucent soul shall be whole

~return to light~

I have wanted to go back to having a bunny as an avatar, and I finally chose to do so. This time, without restraining myself. Something happier, something nicer, something dreamier.

The avatar version of the image, zooming in onto the face.

A version without the background. Always useful to have one of those!

...and here's just the background. Pretty neat, huh?

Workstages

Starting out with a simple sketch, as per usual. Nothing complicated, just rough outline of what I want.

Drawing over the sketch with proper linework ^^

Coloring time! Putting in base colors. The brush strokes for the color fills do need adjustments, as they don't have enough coverage in some areas.

Shading time! A little bit of shading always helps!

Stars! A plain sweater wasn't cute enough for me, so here it is!

Woah, here's a nice background! There's still ways to go in order to make it even better, as you can tell. Also, the color fill brush strokes were refined.

Glow effect added to the bunny! It does help her stand out ^^

A nice gradient in the background, makes the whole picture a lot more vibrant, doesn't it?

...and also add a bunch of cute shapes to the background to make it even nicer!

...and done! Re-centered the bunny and improved the background gradient to be more vibrant. Woohoo! ^^
